The education policy discussion on multilingualism proceeds with surprising similarity in India and Germany despite dissimilar social points of departure. This shows that their social evaluation is tied to models of dealing with linguistic, social, cultural, and other forms of heterogeneity. The contributions illustrate this relationship and present productions of multilingualism in science, literature, film, and music. The book develops a broader concept of multilingualism as it explores the potential of multilingually oriented practice.
